Dommeren Peter Cahill forteller at straffeutmålingen vil ta åtte uker.

This verdict does not bring back Mr Floyd. But justice is truth.

This verdict is just the first step in a long line of injustice against the Black community, often with no consequences. The work is not nearly done. While there are many more families waiting for justice, my heart is with George Floyd’s family right now. #PoliceReformNOW @NAACP

I was going to make a celebratory tweet but then I was hit with sadness because we are celebrating something that is clear as day. The fact that so many injustices occurred to make us hold our breath toward this outcome is really telling.

So much attention has been paid to Derek Chauvin’s lack of humanity toward George Floyd, but I can’t stop thinking about the powerful humanity of all the bystanders who tried to intervene to save his life. This verdict would not have been possible without them.

George Floyd was not a martyr. Not a sacrifice. Not a hero. Not a villain.
George Floyd was a regular human being that was murdered ON VIDEO and it still took the system nearly a year to determine whether or not that demon was "guilty" or not. Fuck off.

Darnella Frazier. Remember her name. She is the courageous 17-year-old who took the cellphone video that led to a verdict of guilty on all three charges against Derek Chauvin.
